What we're making
Stewed apples - Absolutely delicious added to porridge or yoghurt for a healthy breakfast.
What you'll need
500g cooking apples
50g brown sugar
Zest of 1 lemon
2 tsp ground cinnamon
2 tbsp water
1 small knob of butter (optional)
I vegetable peeler
Saucepan with lid
How to do it
1. Peel, core and chop apples. Add to saucepan with sugar, lemon zest and water.
2. Gently heat and cover with lid. Stir occasionally until apples are very soft and losing their shape.
3. Remove from heat and stir small knob of butter through. Serve with porridge or yogurt.
